Protein-protein interfaces and drug design
Protein-protein interactions are operative at almost every level of cell function. We have focused on developing a new system for protein-protein interface-based drug design.
First, we introduce a new method PP_SITE which can qualitatively estimate the individual contribution of each interfacial residue.
Second, we plan on building a frame to carry out drug design using PP_SITE as the centre. We use an example to show how this system works.
Third, we extracted a two-chain interface dataset from PDB ,database and applied PP_SITE to deduce hydrophobic and hydrogen bonding property of these interfaces. We discuss the results of this approach.
