Sequence-homology based approach in modeling of protein-protein interactions
Results of the research covered in this talk are related to various aspects of sequence-homology based modeling of 3D structures of protein-protein complexes. First, the quality of homology models will be compared for two different sequence alignment protocols, the PSI-BLAST search and alignment of modified sequence profiles. The second part is related to introduction of additional information into query (target) sequence profile and presents a new method for predicting interfacial residues based on the sequence information alone. Finally, the way of model verification based on electrostatic properties of protein complexes will be presented.
